Gatlinburg Entrance Gazebo Hit Again

Once again, after just 1 year and 11 months, the Gatlinburg Street entrance gazebo has been hit by another car.

Not quite as bad this time, but the northeast corner stone wall is knocked down and the east pillar has some stone damage too. According to Dana Staph who lives at 1202 and was on the scene after the crash on Saturday, June 6: “The cops were looking for the driver for leaving the scene of an earlier accident and arrived only moments after I heard the crash.  The arresting officer’s name is Faust, and the Offense number is 09-00235. ….. Officer Faust said to give the department a couple of days and then we can get the report for the insurance.” [June 19 — We purchased the police report. The driver was Kala Dela Kallestad, age 18, 3300 Killingsworth Ln, 159, Pflugerville, Texas. The 2001 white Pontiac Aztek is owned by Donald Kallestad, insured by The Hartford. We’ll contact them to make a claim.]

The first step is cleaning up and saving the stone for rebuilding. Who’s up for a little sweat on Sunday afternoon?
